HIGHLIGHTS OF E.B.A. CHAMPIONSHIP´S RULES

The Rules and Regulation governing E.B.A. Championship fights, as adopted by the E.B.A., would be mandatory and of compulsory fulfillment in every fight to be sanctioned by the E.B.A. and will prevail over any rules and regulations enforced locally.

1.-     The bout shall be of twelve (12) rounds duration. Each round shall consist of a three (3) minutes duration with a one (1) minute rest between round.

2.-     THE TEN (10) POINTS MUST SYSTEM shall be used to score each round.   All rounds shall be scored, even incomplete round.

3.-     The Weigh-in ceremony has been held on ______________ according to the           provision of 13 Rules of the E.B.A. Championship´s Regulations. The official          scale should be at the disposal of the boxers, TWO (2) HOURS PRIOR TO           THE WEIGH-IN CEREMONY.

4.-     The Three Knockdown Rule will be in effect.

5.-     There will be no standing eight count.

6.-     The bell will not save the boxer in any round, even in the last round.

7.-     A fighter who is hit with a low blow must continue after a rest period of five (5) minutes or less as determined by the referee, or he will lose the fight by Technical Knock Out (TKO).

8.-     A.- INTENTIONAL FOULS:

.- If the injured fighter cannot continue, the offender will lose the fight by DISQUALIFICATION.

.- In case of an international foul, whether it produces a cut or injury or not, the offender will be automatically discounted two (2) points.

      .- If the fight has to be stopped later on because the same cut or injury becomes worse, then if the injured boxer is ahead on points he will be the winner by TECHNICAL DECISION; If he is even or behind on the scorecards, the decision will be a TECHNICAL DRAW, so that the fighter injured intentionally will never lose.

B.- ACCIDENTAL FOULS: If the fight has to be stopped because an accidental foul the fighter who is ahead on the scorecards will be the winner by TECHNICAL DECISION.

However, in any case, in order to go to the scorecards the forth (4th) round must have been completed. No technical decision could be reached before the beginning of the fifth (5th) round, except a direct disqualification.

9.-    OF THE REFEREE: The referee is the only person authorized to stop the fight and to decide whether a wound or injury was caused by a legal or an illegal blow; intentional or accidental.

10.- ANTI-DOPING TEST: The Anti-Doping test shall be mandatory in every E.B.A. Title fight sanctioned by the E.B.A. The Anti-Doping test will be performed before or after the fight. The regulations related to the “Anti-Doping” test, must be read in the “Reading of the Rules Ceremony”, which is performed before each E.B.A. Championship Contest.

11.-    The boxers should only drink pure water during the event.

12.- OF THE MOUTHPIECE: When, for whatever reason, the boxer loses his mouthpiece, the referee will proceed to place it back at the most convenient moment, according to his judgment. The fight itself CANNOT be stopped by reason of loss or ejection of the mouthpiece. The referee will exercise full authority to prevent a boxer from ejecting his mouthpiece intentionally, and may discount points on account of his behavior.

13.-   SUSPENSION OF A FIGHT FOR UNEXPECTED REASON:

         If the fight has to be suspended before the end of the scheduled number of rounds because of any unpredictable or accidental reason, the boxer who is ahead on the scorecards, will be declared the winner, as long as FOUR (4) complete rounds have been fought.

         Before four (4) complete rounds, the decision will be a TECHNICAL DRAW.

14.-   BANDAGE: The Supervisor and Referee assigned for the event will inspect and sign on both bandages one (1) hour before the fight. The globes should be put on in front of the Supervisor, signing on the exterior tape of the globes. (In the event of any of doubt about the quantity of tape and the bandaging material to be used, these are stipulated in Article 11 of these Rules)

15.-   OUT OF THE RING: When a boxer, due to a legal punch or action from the opponent or by his own action, falls out of the ring he will have a maximum of 20 seconds to come inside the ropes without any exterior help or he will lose by Technical Knockout.

16.- OF THE SUPERVISOR: the Supervisor appointed to act in a E.B.A. Championship Fight is the personal representative of the President of the E.B.A. His duties are: To assist and help the local Commission with regards to the handling of the fight, and to make sure that all the E.B.A. Rules and Regulations are complied with. He has full authority to take whatever steps he/she may consider necessary to safeguard the good name of the E.B.A. and the best interest of all concerned.
